In many cities, the applicable standards are exceeded and people are exposed to <strong>inhalation of harmful pollutants<\/strong>. Cities such as Warsaw, Krakow, Katowice, Pozna\u0144 and Rybnik in particular have problems with record-high air pollution caused by smog. In order to protect the respiratory tract from pollution, it is advisable to use smog masks. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.twplast.pl\/en\/maski-ochronne\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Anti-smog masks\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>protect against volatile organic compounds such as dust, smoke or car exhaust. There are products on the market equipped with special filters that need to be replaced after a certain period of time. They are an effective protection to be used especially in urban and industrial areas, i.e. places with high levels of dust, pollutants and bacteria that can endanger health. Anti-smog masks, as the name says, are designed primarily to combat smog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is smog?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Smog is particulate matter and organic compounds<\/strong> (PM10 and PM 2.5). The daily concentration level of PM10 is 50\u00b5g\/m\u00b3, importantly it cannot be exceeded more than 35 days per year and the annual average can be up to 40\u00b5g\/m\u00b3. As for PM2.5, its annual standard is 25\u00b5g\/m\u00b3. However, not all of them are characterised by identical effectiveness. They can be purchased online:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Types of anti-smog masks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>anti-smog masks for cyclists,<\/li><li>anti-smog masks for running,<\/li><li><strong>anti-smog filtering and absorbing half-masks,<\/strong><\/li><li>anti-smog walking masks.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As far as the type of filter is concerned, three classes can be distinguished:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>&nbsp;Carbon filters (F1)<\/strong>- Dust masks fitted with such a carbon filter effectively protect against PM10 and PM 2.5.These products trap up to 99.9 per cent of particles from 0.1 micrometres. Importantly, such models provide a barrier against viruses, bacteria and other pollutants. In addition, they absorb allergens.<\/li><li><strong>HEPA class filters (F2)<\/strong>- made of sintered glass, their filtration efficiency is lower. The hepa filters capture contaminants above 0.3 micrometres in size. Their use gives a protection level of 97 per cent. It is worth noting, however, that models with this filter allow 40 per cent more air through than carbon filters, so they are particularly suitable for running and sporting activities.<\/li><li><strong>hybrid filters (F3)-&nbsp;<\/strong>is a combination of a hepa filter and a charcoal filter. Dust masks with this filter are top quality products. They stop as much as 97% of allergens and dust, in addition to stopping particles from 0.1 micrometres. The replaceable filters with the F1 designation also provide protection against sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides and have a service life of up to 50 hours.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Certified anti-smog masks - the most important considerations when choosing one<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It is worth knowing what to look for when choosing a particular product. Of course, it is important that it proves to be effective in trapping dirt. In doing so, it must have the appropriate ce certificate, safety mark, as well as other most important certificates. In addition, it is important:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Filter life and availability<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The filter has a predetermined life span and should be replaced regularly. Obviously, the longer the service life, the better, plus it is worth opting for a brand with official distribution in our country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Valve type<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A movable diaphragm is located in the valves, which opens and closes during breathing. The valves allow better removal of heat, carbon dioxide and water vapour. They ensure comfortable use and also counteract the formation of excessive moisture. Shops offer sports and everyday ones. Sports models allow more air through and guarantee good circulation during physical activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mask size<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It is extremely important that the anti-smog mask fits perfectly. It is worth paying particular attention to the fact that the lungs of young children are not yet fully developed, so do not choose masks for children under the age of 8 on your own. In order for it to prove effective in its effects, it is important to know how to use it correctly.<br><br>1 It is essential to wash your hands before putting on the mask.<br><br>(2) The mask is then placed on the face, so that the sheet metal element is placed on the nose, while the straps go under the ears at the back of the head.
